Concord
An unincorporated Fort Loudoun Lake community in western Knox County between Knoxville and Farragut — once one of the county’s busiest commercial villages before TVA’s Fort Loudoun Dam reshaped it in the 1940s, today centered on Concord Park and its marina.

Getting to know Concord
Concord was platted in 1854–55 by James M. Rodgers as a 55-lot village, taking its name from the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Rail access from 1853 and a Tennessee marble quarrying and shipping industry through the 1880s made it, by 1887, one of the largest communities in Knox County after Knoxville itself.
TVA’s construction of Fort Loudoun Dam in the early 1940s changed the town permanently: by 1944 the new Fort Loudoun Lake had flooded roughly a third of Concord, including most of its historic business district. TVA later leased back about 400 acres to Knox County for public recreation, which became today’s Concord Park, and the Concord Village Historic District — surviving structures concentrated on Lake Ridge Drive — is listed on the National Register.
The park is now the community’s center: Concord Park West carries ballfields and a boat launch, Concord Park East a marina area, dog park, walking trail, tennis and disc/junior golf, and Concord Marina offers slips, fuel and a restaurant on the lake. Concord Yacht Club has launched sailors from the historic Concord Boat Dock since the 1940s. Concord Road links the community to Farragut; the same road becomes Northshore Drive on its way into Knoxville.
Getting around
Concord Road (State Route 332) connects to Farragut; the same route becomes Northshore Drive toward Knoxville and I-40/I-75.
