Getting to know Hardin Valley
Hardin Valley is where much of Knox County’s new construction has landed over the past two decades: subdivision after subdivision of newer two-stories and townhomes along the Hardin Valley Road spine, with retail and services steadily filling in behind the rooftops.
The area hosts the main campus of Pellissippi State Community College and a growing school cluster built to serve the growth. Its real advantage is the Pellissippi Parkway: straight shots to I-40, the Turkey Creek retail district, and the Oak Ridge employment base — including Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the surrounding technology economy — make it one of the region’s premier commuter positions.
Getting around
Pellissippi Parkway (SR-162) links to I-40 and Oak Ridge; Hardin Valley Road is the local spine.
